JCA.

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by. I'm Julian, a software engineer at Late Checkout, and I live in Jakarta.

I didn't start out in tech. I studied Industrial Engineering, and somewhere in my last semester I realised I would rather build websites. I bought web development courses, did one every day (sometimes in class), and then joined Hacktiv8, a coding bootcamp in Jakarta.

My first job was frontend at Blibli.com. After that I worked remotely for Jumpcut, a US company, which I honestly didn't think was possible from Indonesia. In 2021 I joined Xendit, and after that Late Checkout, where I work across the frontend, the backend, and once, the Solidity contracts for Crypto College. There's more on the work page.

Outside work I take photos and put them on Unsplash for anyone to use. I read a lot (the library keeps track), play more Riftbound and One Piece TCG than I should, and write to remember what I learn. Short updates go in the log, and the gear I use is on the uses page.

If something here was useful, or you just want to say hi, write back. My inbox is open.

Talk soon,

Julian.
